High intensity interval training (aka H.I.I.T.) doesn’t always have to be high impact! Maximize your cardio time, burn fat and calories (without pounding your joints) with this low impact high intensity cardio workout created by certified fitness instructor Jessica Smith (no jumping means it’s perfect for hotel rooms and apartments too!).

    Thanks Jessica! Tried the plyometric workout earlier and just can’t do it! Too many formerly broken bones! But, this has me shaking and was great! I would love to see more of this low impact HIIT, but in just a tad longer videoes…. Like 15 minutes or so! Thanks again! Love your cuing.

    Whew! Perfect HIIT for my injured foot! Not able to stand any dancey moves or jumps right now, so this was perfect! Good sound quality and excellent cuing too!

    Thank you SO much for this fantastic workout!!! I have been looking for a “quiet cardio” routine for the past several months with no success. I recently moved into an apartment complex that was built in the early 40s. If I rush from one room to the other, the doors shake. If I jump for cardio, the whole building seems to shake! All the other videos I have come upon were either still not gentle enough or not vigorous enough to get my heart rate up. I did your routine tonight, 2 times through, and I was definitely sweating. I’m beyond excited to start doing this every day now. Thanks again!

    Alright day #3 complete. Waited until the end of the day because I wanted to test out the new hear rate monitor. Test complete!! By the way my cat wanted to watch this workout…but I guess it tired him out until I was done…then he wanted attention. Reminds me of Peanut staring out the window during your filming.

    Pfff, breathing hard… Who knew that was possible with no jumping whatsoever! Glad is was only 9 minutes TBH :) By the way, did this this morning (Thursday 9 January Dutch time) as Wednesday wasn´t possible, and did the ´real´ Thursday work out just now (evening).

    Day 3 done, this workout is great! Sometimes I have problems with my knees from plyo, so this low impact option is amazing! It just shows that you don’t have to jump around like a crazy person to get your heart rate up:)

    Wasn’t sure about this one because it was only 9 minutes. Then I did the workout out…very effective. Will definitely do this one again. Great for those blah days and need a quick workout to get me out of my mid afternoon slump (and away from the junk food).

    I’m glad I did not have an audience for this one. I didn’t feel graceful at all doing some of these moves, but I did them! And, I felt really good afterwards.

    Yay for Day 3 (first video) … and no doubt, low impact definitely didn’t mean low intensity. My cat was staring at me strangely during the figure eight portion. Her head kept bobbing up and down with a curious expression with each rotation.

    This one made me have a little trouble with my asthma. I’ve always had trouble with high intensity cardio though. I’m better with moderate intensity over longer periods. I did finish though! :)

    Whew! 9 minutes and my heart, lungs and sweat glands are in full force!! I forgot we had to do 2 workouts today! But, this low impact, high intensity is what I needed today. We are experiencing extremely low temps for our area and my formerly broken leg is really talking pain to me, so not needing to jump or hop was a great welcomed relief! Still, I’m still breathing hard from the workout. Thanks Jessica!

    so glad it didn’t involve jumping bc it turns out i’m sore from yesterday! i’m totally uncoordinated and many moves are new to me so its a good thing i’m working out by myself. the look on my face over and over again is, “wha?”

    Wow, that really got my heart rate up!! Day 3 is done for this one! My workout partner (our 3 year old) tapped out after walking the beginning part, but he did his best! I hope everyone is having a great time with this as I am!

    Done! Woo! had to take a minute to catch my breath and get a drink in the middle. My mouth got really dry. Seemed to work better when I tried to breath more through my nose once in a while. Loved the workout, though!

    Have done this workout before – really nice for bumping the heart rate and it’s doable – burpees, squat thrusts and I don’t get along well since my lower body flexibility is not wonderful and I have to yack at my legs to get into position – this workout first part of day 3 challenge is great. Thanks.

    I have always been worried about HIIT because of joint impact as I have recovered from hip labrum repair. This video has shown me that it is possible to have low impact along with great cardio benefits. Thanks again!

    Just finished this 9 min. Low Impact and feel as if my legs are floating! It may just be 9 mins. but you make us work every one of them Jessica! Great stuff, but will wait a wee while I think before I attempt part 2!

    Day 3 part 1 done. Will do the rest after lunch. This is one of my favorites. I like to do a 10-20 min workout before work and this one is a great energizer. Sometimes I do it twice. Then I have energy to do more in the afternoon! Can’t tell you enough how much I love your workouts. Changing my life… 😀

    I did this ahead of time too – trying to do or two additional Jessica workouts a day on top of the boot camp exercise the first week since week two looks tough. Funny that the 10 minute total body and abs and this one had me gasping for breath! I agree with kk, never underestimate what 10 minutes can do! :)

    Just did this after the 10 minute total body workout from day 2. Both of them prove you should never underestimate the power of 10 minutes to help improve fitness. Eliminates the no time excuse!
